I found out just a little while ago that you can get crates that open on the side as well as the front. What a great idea if you want the crates to go in a vehicle like a van. Dogs are so much safer in a crate while traveling. So now I have 4 crates in the van - 2 facing out the back door and 1 each facing out the side doors. It has reduced my capacity to carry 5 big dogs down to 4 but I'll feel better knowing they are safer.

How ironic is this...It is the first day with the new crates and I need to take them out. Atlas, the great dane needs a ride....
