The Little Sister

Lexi is the little sister in more ways than one. She is the youngest in the family and yes, she is also the smallest. How is this possible? Her big brother is Atlas! He outweighs her by about 40 pounds, although she probably has a little more growing to do.

As we watched them play today, we tried to imagine all that wrestling inside our homes...

The Creepy Pig

Amanda brought this really creepy pig one day to the daycare. It really isn't very attractive but the dogs seem to love it. They don't get to play with it very often as it isn't the toughest toy ever made but they sure have fun with it.

Ruby played keep away...

... and won!

Mac and Maggie Mae played tug...

... until he cracked under the pressure. (If you look closely you can see Mac holding a small piece of him. You might need to click on it to see it full size.)

Goodbye creepy pig. I won't miss you but I know the dogs will.

Not Just For Dogs

The Prairie Dog Canine Rescue is hosting their second Microchip Clinic on March 8, 2009. This is a great opportunity to get your pets microchipped. The cost is just $40 (about half the regular price) and 100% of the proceeds are going to the rescue. You can get your dog and/or cat microchipped! Microchips can help put your mind at ease by knowing that your pet always has ID on them, even if they lose their collar.

Fore more information about the Microchip Clinic, visit the Rescue's Blog or call Bobbi at 403-320-0528 to book your appointment.

More of the Couch

Is everyone tired of the couch pictures yet? I'm not!

The lump in the middle... that would be Perkins. He prefers to be under the blankets.

My Funny Valentine

Gus is moving in to give me a kiss. I tried to tell him Valentine's Day was last weekend but he just wouldn't listen.

Gotta Keep Moving

Harley just ran, and ran, and ran this morning outside. He refused to stand still for a photo - he probably had to keep moving to stay warm.

Tucker looks like he is standing in a thick fog, but it is just his breath.

You could barely see through the fence this morning there was so much frost stuck to it.

Just a Little Dirty

We couldn't resist trying out the new door yesterday. This is Buddy trying to figure out how to get through the dog door.

Amanda had promised me that the dogs wouldn't get dirty, but the dirt splatter on Miko's face, is just a hint at the mud under her belly (which I'm not going to show you!).

Opening New Doors

The pups are getting some "new" digs in the next little while. We've had many discussions on how we could arrange the play area and allow the dogs in both areas access to the outside whenever they wanted. We finally figured out an ideal solution but it involves some rearranging on fencing, additional rubber mats for the floor and a new door.

Our first step was a new door. That is Frank from next door putting it in for us. We built a little fenced area for him so he wouldn't have a bunch of little helpers slowing him down.

In the next month we hope the new mats will arrive and then we'll rearrange everything else. Stay tuned!

Uncommon

It is really neat to be able to see so many different breeds at the daycare. We've ranged in size from yorkies to Great Danes and have had lots of different breeds. Towhee, is our first Munsterlander. She is fun, playful and very sure of herself.

Missed Out

Indoor Dog Park was pretty quiet this weekend but the dogs that came got along pretty well and it was a good mix. For those of you who didn't come, you missed out on meeting a 13-week Great Dane puppy. Is she ever cute - all feet and legs. I didn't have my camera so I can't even show you what you missed. Maybe you can see her in a few weeks as we will be closed next weekend for the Family Day Weekend.

Still There?

I seem to be slipping on the blog posts lately. Sorry about that! I promise to do better. Hang in there.

Irresistable

This is the cute look Miko gives you when she wants you to throw the ball. Which means, this is how she looks all day!

Lab Invasion

50% of the large dogs here today were labs. Obviously they are a pretty popular breed!

Two new labs came today to help the other labs take over the world... or at least the daycare. Meet Tikka (above) and Sako (below). They felt quite at home surrounded by their "own kind".
