If only we could all be as comfortable as Piper...

She is always squishing herself on to a chair, with various limbs sticking off in every direction and falling asleep. It is amazing how she can manage to balance herself so she doesn't fall off.

Just a reminder that we are closed tomorrow for Canada Day. We'll see you on Thursday!

There are not many more things more fierce than a jack russell playing tug! Be sure to insert growling sound effects while looking at the photos for the full effect.

If you are too slow to throw the toy, Russell encourages you to hurry up by jumping up and down. Then once you throw it, he launches into the air to try and catch it. Rory was a little less jumpy, but just as excited.

One Day Only

That is how long I could stand cleaning the play area. But let me start at the beginning...

When Jolene first started working with us, we made a deal. She didn't want to have to learn the "computer stuff", so in turn, she would stay in the back with the dogs and clean at the end of the day. A match made in heaven! I mean really, cleaning is not fun. Imagine having a 3,000 square foot house that you've let 30 or so dogs run around in all day. And now imagine the hair and dirt and having to vacuum and steam clean it each and every day. That is not my idea of fun. But that is what Jo has to do every day.

When Jo first started, after vacuuming we mopped the floors. Then we upgraded to a little upright steam cleaner. That only survived around 6 months of daily use before we upgraded to a commercial steam cleaner that we affectionately call Archie. We LOVE Archie. Nobody minds steam cleaning anymore. It is actually enjoyable.

But the vacuuming is still painful. It is slow (takes 1-1.5 hours) and hard on your back. Jolene is on vacation this week so one of us has to do the cleaning every night. So last night, that was me. And today I hurt. Apparently I am not as young as I used to be! So, I went out and bought a new vacuum.

Jo, if you are reading this don't get too excited... It will never be as fun as driving Archie, but it has a funky ergonomic handle and has a better attachment for the floor. The hose won't come out of the handle every few strokes and it has a better motor so it should pick up more hair and dirt and do it faster. It is also quieter and has better wheels. I hope it will make your job at least a little better. Especially as you aren't back for a week and I need to clean again tonight. :)

Wild Boys

I don't think we are the only ones enjoying the nicer weather today. After pouring rain all day yesterday, the sunshine today sure feels nice.

Boynapsi was bouncing and barking.

Milo was just bouncing - on me of course!

Sherlock was having a blast running and chasing.

Hershey wasn't too sure about the camera but had fun chasing it. Shortly after this, he tried to bite it. Unfortunately I was too busy with evasive manouvers to get a picture of his gaping jaws.

I hope you are all out enjoying the sunshine as much as we are! Nothing like a little rain to make you appreciate it again.

All Smiles

I don't think Alfie ever stops smiling. He is such a happy-go-lucky kind of guy.

Pool Time

It is finally time to bring out the pool! Everyone's been enjoying it quite a bit... except for maybe Perkins.

No E-mail

Hi everyone,

If you've e-mailed and haven't been able to get through that is because our website and e-mail is temporarily down. I will hopefully be getting things back on line on Monday. Sorry for any inconvience! Please give us a call at 403-394-7780 to make daycare reservations.

C is for Cookie

Meet Cookie Munster.

As you may have guessed by his good looks and name, he is a Small Munsterlander. He spent a wild and crazy (and fun!) day with us yesterday. Can you tell?

Baby Beagle

OK. I admit it. I'm more than a little smitten with Beagles.

Beagles tend to be friendly, confident, and playful. At least the ones I've met are, and Oliver is no exception.

Very Busy Week

Sorry the blogging has been almost non-existant this week. We've been busy. We have just hired a student for the summer. Jenna is going to be working here until she returns to school in September. We are all very excited about it, and not just because that means we can all take more holidays. ;)

Jenna has lots of experience with dogs - she has worked at a pet store, volunteered at a few different vet clinics and at the Humane Society as well. She is hoping to be accepted into the U of C Veterinarian program this fall and we all have our fingers crossed for her.

I've been hoping to get a picture of her, but as of yet, we haven't taken a break from training long enough to pose for pictures. So instead I've posted a picture of Sukhoi. He will be having his first birthday party this weekend. This big guy has sure changed this past year. Jackie the border collie, gives you an idea how big he has gotten since we first met him.

Have a great weekend everyone!

The Three Amigos

This was actually taken last week but I never got a chance to share it with you. Angus, Aleyra and Ruby are the best of friends. Angus and Ruby were actually standing there side by side and Alerya pushed her way into the middle to make sure she wasn't missing out on anything fun.
