Aaawooo!

Ali loves to sing and often woo, woo, woos to us throughout the day. Mostly when she's excited, or wants us to throw the ball faster. ;)

Boone is Missing

One of Amanda's dogs went missing last night.  He is medium sized and grey in colour.  He is friendly but can be skittish and shy at times.  He is probably quite scared at this point.

He went missing around 9 p.m. on Saturday night from 12 St and 8 Ave N.  He is wearing a blue collar but has no tags on it.  He LOVES food and you could probably coax him over with some cookies.

If you see him please call Amanda at 403-359-3139 or you can call the shelter at 403-320-4099.

Puppy Mania

It seems to be the time of year for puppies!  You met Lyla the other day on the blog (but I couldn't resist one more picture)....

And this little cutie is Lexi!

We have the best job.  :)

Instant Friends

Lyla and Charlie both came for their first visit on Monday. They instantly hit it off and were inseperable all day.
Most of the photos we tried to get looked like this:

Wendy did manage to get one photo of them
together that wasn't just pieces of them...
aren't they the cutest?
(Lyla is the mastiff cross, and Charlie is the lab)

Winner takes all...

Keesha the doodle is pretty proud of herself after she managed to wrestle the toy away from Jake. :)

Don't feel too badly for Jake she was pretty happy to hang out on the picnic table- even without a toy.

Small but Mighty

Denny is one of our smallest daycare clients, but he doesn't let that stop him! He plays just as hard as everyone else does, and thinks he's quite the tough guy.

Friday Funny

Milo's parents were a tad late last night so Wendy had him out in the front waiting. To pass the time she thought she'd torture him. :) Poor Milo!
Yes, those are cookies on his feet! What a good boy!

Disdain

Can you feel the disdain?

I wasn't throwing the ball fast enough apparently.

The Wet Look...

Riley sports the "wet look" pretty well, unless of course you are on the receiving end of that beard!

You can't always get what you want...

Just most of the time. :)

Rudy wants out in the big yard...and of course I gave in to him. But for future reference I did sing a bit of "you can't always get what you want" to him...

New Girl In Town...

We've had a whole bunch of new dogs lately, but we've been too busy to take many photos! We promise to do better.

For today though, we thought we'd show you all how cute Zoey is. She is a French Bulldog/Boston Terrier cross. She had a great time her first day, and made lots of new friends.

Happy Feet

One of the most important things you can do as a dog owner is to keep their nails nice and trimmed. Long nails are not only annoying (clicking on the floor) but they also can do damage to the dogs feet. Trimming them with proper nail trimmers once every few weeks is really the best way to keep them short and healthy!

Here at the daycare we like short nails for a variety of reasons- the first reason is to prevent injury. In the past we have had a few broken toe nails- and believe us when we tell you they bleed- alot! Keeping them short enough so they don't snag on the flooring is a quick, easy way to prevent a painful injury. Also, if the dogs do happen to jump up having long nails makes it a little painful for us!

We often trim daycare client nails just as a courtesy- usually Amanda and Jo will get the nail clippers out once or twice a week and "make the rounds" for any longer nails. You can also book your dog in for a nail trim- we charge $10 and it takes just a few minutes.

As a special we are offering FREE NAIL TRIMS to all daycare clients for the whole month of September. Your dogs nails will be trimmed when they come for their regular visit- no appointment or schedule is necessary! Just mention that you want them done and we'll add them to the list!
