A Walk in the Park

Thanks to everyone who sponsored Paws on the Run in the Purina Walk for Dog Guides this weekend. You guys managed to raise $375 for this amazing charity. I've posted some more pictures on the Photography Blog but I thought you might recognize a few of these dogs and people.

Apparently I was a little obsessed with Tammy and Taylor, I have tonnes of pictures of Taylor. I love the picture of the two of them and the "heavenly" looking one was an oops (it is hazy because blades of grass are in front of the lens) but I really like the way it turned out.

Miss Piper was her usual well-behaved self.

And as usual Perkins made everyone he met smile.

Guide Dog Walk

Just a reminder that the Purina Walk for Dog Guides is this Saturday at Nicholas Sharon Park. The walk starts at 11:00 a.m. and there is a BBQ to follow. We hope to see you there! If you'd like to donate, you can donate on-line here.

New Face

It is Monday again so that means more new faces. We had three new dogs today and they all did great. Unfortunately Doogan was the only one I manged to take a decent picture of so you only get to meet him today.

Business of the Day

We had a very nice surprise today. We were chosen as the River 107.7's Business of the Day! We got a gorgeous boquet of flowers and some gift certificates to Earl's.

Things are Looking Up

The weather promises to be fabulous for the weekend.

It is a long weekend. (We are closed for holiday Monday)

Pretending

Amanda took this photo yesterday afternoon and I just had to laugh when I saw it. Maggie Mae is very proudly holding on to the ball and it looks like Brodie is pretending he has one too!

New Faces

It was Miss Ebony's and Mr. Tibbs' first day today!

They both arrived pretty shy but within a few hours were starting to settle in and enjoy themselves. Neither of them could resist Maggie's charms.

Maggie hasn't been for a few months but that only slowed her down for about 5 minutes. She has quickly become the life of the party.

Vito and His Tail

Vito loves to chase his own tail. Maybe it is the white tip that always gets his attention. He'll grab on to his tail and then roll around on the floor holding on to it.

Another Great Toy

Another favourite toy of the dogs is these bones made by Nylabone. Their website says they aren't made for strong chewers but we've had pretty good success with them.

This is technically the big dogs' bone but Shandi and Pixel don't seem to mind it either.

Teaser Ball

Another one of our favourite toys here at the daycare is the Teaser Ball, made by Jolly Ball. We started off with a big one for the big dogs to play with and eventually got a smaller one for the little pups. It has been a big hit with many of the dogs here at the daycare.

We don't find many of them obssessed with the ball inside but for some reason they seem to enjoy carrying it around and chasing it. And sometimes chewing on it. The outer ball is a very hard plastic so it can take quite a lot of abuse.

The Sunny South

We had the pleasure of meeting Oddie today! He was recently adopted by Kalo's mom from Pawsitive Match who brought him up from Mexico. I'm sure these last few weeks were a shock to his system but he had lots of fun out in the sun today. He was super confident and played with anyone who would play with him. It seemed like the only thing that scared him was the camera!

Happy Jenny

Jenny is a little yorkie/poodle? cross. Is she ever cute. She has legs that go for miles (for a little pup anyway!) and the cutest little face. She is super confident, spunky and playful. We never managed to get a picture of her play bowing but she was bowing to all the other dogs. We hope to see more of her in the future!
